Back to blogging - Back to basics

Hello lovelies!

I had to take a bit of a deep breath before writing this post because I'M BACK...and it's kind of feeling like it's my first day back at school after a long summer break.

I'm 60% excited to be back writing again, 20% not really sure what I'm doing, and 20% screaming inside...but, we MOVE.

I'm going to start from the beginning, because rumour has it, that's always the best place to start.

My blog, formerly known as grabyourcamera.co.uk was my PRIDE AND JOY. It was my baby. (No, really.) I spent years building up my blog and my brand to something I loved sharing with you guys. I spent a lot of time and money on creating content, developing my website and attempting to turn my little online bubble into a business. I'd like to think I had a pretty good stint at it. I spent money on things such as the website theme, my domain name, my self-hosting fees (and more)...and it was working! However, that's where the problems started. The more I spent money on my blog...the more money driven I became. I was absolutely honoured to work with brands such as Panasonic and Pretty Little Thing...these were brands I thought I could only ever DREAM of working and collaborating with. However, the more "hungry" I got, the more I started accepting brand deals that just weren't me. I got lazy with my content. I was smashing out post after post, advert after advert, not really giving a second thought to whether it matched my brand, and/or my morals. My blog slowly turned into something I wasn't proud of anymore. It wasn't ME, ya'know?

Eventually I gave up posting all together. There was no joy left in my blog anymore. As time passed, I didn't renew my domain, or my website host. My blog is lost forever. (Someone snatched my domain name, but hey, who'd blame 'em right?!) So, here we are.

A fresh start. A breath of fresh air.

I'm taking a completely different approach to blogging now. I'm doing it for the reason I started in the first place. I love writing. I love jotting down my thoughts, experiences, memories...and sharing photographs to go with them. This is my hobby. I've moved back to blogspot because it's simple and easy to use. I've used a free blog template and a free domain name. I mean yeah, my blog might not look as good as what it used to...my domain name is slightly different for now...but that's okay! I feel good.

I'll be posting lots about my expat life in Hong Kong, any travel adventures I find myself on, and possibly a few funny dating stories along the way.

Here's to a new and improved way of blogging! I can't wait to reconnect with all my old readers again. I've missed you!
